Corrections and Retractions
The Brazilian Journal of Clinical Medicine and Review (BJCMR) is committed to preserving the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scientific record. The journal follows the recommendations and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and complies with the standards required by DOAJ, Scopus, and PubMed Central.
Corrections (Errata)
Minor errors that do not compromise the scientific integrity, validity, or conclusions of an article — such as typographical errors, formatting issues, or minor inaccuracies — will be corrected through an official erratum.
Corrections are clearly identified, published promptly, and permanently linked to the original article.
Retractions
Articles may be retracted when serious issues are identified, including but not limited to:
-
Major errors that invalidate the results or conclusions
-
Plagiarism
-
Data fabrication or falsification
-
Image manipulation
-
Unethical research practices or undisclosed conflicts of interest
Retraction notices are issued in accordance with COPE guidelines, are clearly labeled as retractions, explain the reason for the retraction, and remain permanently linked to the retracted article. Retracted articles are not removed from the journal archive but are clearly marked to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Expressions of Concern
When there are well-founded concerns regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article and the matter is still under investigation, BJCMR may issue an Expression of Concern. This notice will remain in place until the investigation is concluded and a final editorial decision is made.
Transparency and Editorial Responsibility
All post-publication actions are conducted transparently, independently, and with due process. Authors, readers, and institutions may notify the journal of potential issues at any time. Editorial decisions regarding corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are based solely on ethical considerations and scientific integrity.
